wheat, grain sorghum, and corn

as High Plains Gelbvieh, producer of registered Gelbvieh, Angus, Red
Angus, and hybrid seedstock
Board of Directors, Lane County Feeders, a 42,000 head commercial cattle

Board of Directors, National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, 2002-2008.
Served on task force charged with investigating the safety and efficacy of
Canadian efforts to contain and control incidences of BSE.
President, Kansas Livestock Association, 2001. Earlier served in
various capacities, including Chairman of Tax Committee, Policy and
Resolutions Committee, Cow-Calf/Stocker Council, and Purebred Council.
Also served on Kansas Livestock Association Political Action Committee.
Board of Directors and Executive Committee, American Gelbvieh Association,
1989-1991. Participated in nationwide search, interview, and hiring of
new Executive Director. Participated in search for and purchase of new
headquarters building in Denver area.
Public Service:
Kansas State
Representative, elected 2008
Dighton City Council, 1978-1982.
Served 3 ½ years of a four year term.
Resigned because we moved to the farm and were no longer residents of the
city of
Dighton.
Lane County Commission, 1985-2000. Served on Southwest Kansas Solid
Waste Authority, a multi-county group formed to develop a system to most
efficiently and cost effectively address state and federal solid waste
management guidelines. Served on Northwest Local Environmental Planning
Group, a multi-county group charged with developing uniform sanitary codes
for participating counties and providing related services to members.
Initiated the first-ever redistricting of commissioner districts, assuring
equal representation for all county residents.
